[ Dru isn't even listening to her. She's barely even there. Darla isn't frightened by much, but this - this sense of losing Dru while she's standing right before her, tactile and muttering - scares her. Dru is a part of her as much as she likes to pretend she's not. She wouldn't have lasted this long without her anchor to what they were fighting for.
Honestly, she can't even remember what she was fighting for. Her desire to take down Wolfram & Hart - and humanity - came to a head, and became a major possiblity with the destruction of the world. Just like her second chance, she found soldiers who were too stupid enough to realise that they were merely pawns, but this time, it worked. Partially. More than it usually does when it comes to her plans. And now she's lost her bait, the things she threw in the direction of the zombies to nibble on while she and Dru ran away. They're so slow now that they could almost be beaten by a human.
For once, Darla isn't out for Darla. Dru's become her priority. And as much as she craves blood, she needs to get it into Dru. Call it maternal instinct or humanity - or incredible stupidity - but Darla knows she can't lose Dru after all this time with her.
Dru stops, causing Darla to come to a halt. Her grip on her "granddaughter" is fiercely tight, even if she will never admit it. Dru is the one last thing in this really shitty world that Darla has left. She'd roll her eyes and snap at her if Dru hadn't held out one of her fingers, pointing toward a group of incredibly ugly undead.
Darla tugs at where they are joined, still at the elbow, and even tightens her hold on her fellow vampire. ] Come on. We can lose them. [ Is it horrible she doesn't even believe that? With the approaching sun, the lack of pawns, the lack of help - Aren't they the helpless? Where the hell was Angel? - Darla was starting to believe their fate was in death. Hers, again. ]
Next human body we see, we're having lunch. Keep your eyes peeled.
[ Just to keep Dru somewhat anchored to earth, though, Darla's convinced not much of her is left coherent at the moment. But she's determined to find said snack and have a feast. A quick one.
She pulls them in the direction of the cemetery. Perhaps a crypt with underground tunnels and the like can be found. Darla's quite good at navigating sewers when the time calls for it. ]
