[ kol's licking his wounds. sitting in a corner of a room off one of the main halls, kol's been banned from crossing the threshold until he's calmed down and stopped behaving like a child. the thing is, kol will always be a child - and not only because he finds it fun. he acts out to grab the attention of his brothers - and rebekah, when she's not busy fawning over niklaus and his "always and forever" bullshit (because, seriously, his brother will only hurt her in the end as he's always in it for himself) - and his mother. he can't with his father anymore; his agenda to kill them all kind of severed his ties of respect to the one father figure he always had.

elijah comes close - and, well, kol's pretty sure he and elijah are on rockier terms now. he's gone a bit weird when it comes to this doppelganger. she looks familiar to kol; he knows who she is, deep down, but he likes to pretend that elena gilbert and tatia petrova are two shadows of a past that's deep in the background of their lives. he just wishes for another lady to be the centre of everyone's world ... like madonna.

he's sulking in a chair, bent over like the hunchback from one of those animated movies he secretly loves so much, with a glass of whiskey or something sweet in his hand. he honestly doesn't care what the alcohol is; it does nothing to get rid of damon's face and the things he wishes to use against it to break it.

he's refusing to speak. or he's not speaking to anyone. he's too busy thinking or mumbling very quickly about the things he's going to do to damon salvatore and that doppelganger of his. rather passionately, and a little loudly, he smirks to the ground:

Staying in the morgue was a very bad idea. Elena's started to realise that her being stubborn when it came to being relocated, even to the security the Boarding House gave her, was one of the many stupid decisions she had made in her very short - and possibly now eternal - life. Sitting on the floor by one of the tables with her head in her hands didn't muffle how strong the scent of anything was. No matter how hard she pushed the flesh of her palm against her nose, she could still smell everything; Damon, blood, death. She could smell the lake that claimed her entire life, from her parents, to who she used to be, to who she wanted to be, soaked into the very fibre of her damp clothes.

Elena was usually accepting of the events that occurred in her life, from the Salvatore's returning to Mystic Falls to learning about her ancestry, but the idea that she was dead was something she denied herself to even think about. She just wanted to be herself again, without the amplified senses she knew came with the territory of being a new vampire.

With a deep breath in, she pulled her hands away from her face and ran them through her hair, mussing it. "I have to go see Matt. I need to know that he got out of the car okay." She couldn't bear the thought of losing another person so very important to her, especially when she could've somehow prevented them going off of the bridge. Seeing Matt, knowing he was alive, allowed her to, somehow, believe that everything was okay when it was far from even being in the vicinity of the word.

JUST LET IT BURN
SMALLVILLE | [personal profile] typoing and [personal profile] justice_4all | where lois tries to surprise oliver only to almost burn his apartment down. (somewhere in season six.)

[ he honestly shouldn't have left her alone in his apartment. she's sure clark tells him all the horrible things she does to hurt his sensitive flannel-covered feelings every time they hang out to do god know what. play xbox? watch sports? lois has never seen either of them do anything like that.

so, oliver was out doing billionaire things while she was left alone to cause havoc in his apartment. lois never does well when left alone in a place that isn't her own. they were going to spend a quiet night in, doing the coupley things they never get a chance to do, and, as true to every other night lois popped over, oliver had to bail temporarily.

in order to keep her sticky fingers from rifling through his things, she decided to surprise him with that dinner they never quite make it to.

and, of course, it turns disastrous. there's so much smoke that even the open doors leading to the balcony aren't wide enough to let the smoke out quickly. the smell still lingers after she sprays so much air freshner and perfume around the place. the meal, a nice spaghetti martha tried teaching her countless times (while lois was standing very far away) is burnt to a crisp.

she really, really hopes oliver's got his cellphone on him. the one thing in her usually over-packed handbag is missing. besides, if he's on his way home, she needs to pretend her cooking failure never happened. and that requires way more time than she'll be given to get rid of the evidence and to push the smell out.

ALL OF THE GHOULS COME OUT TO PLAY
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES | [personal profile] copied and [personal profile] secretshame | TVD: pre-series. | where jenna becomes responsible and elena takes ten steps backward only to move five paces forward.

The last thing Elena hears is laughter. She had been laughing in the car with Mom and Dad, sitting in the back seat as they approached the bridge. And then -

What comes next is a blur. Elena's entire memory is groggy; she feels sluggish and slow, like a broken doll that's been put together with superglue but still is missing little vital pieces. When she comes to, it takes seven seconds for her mind to flicker into action, properly identifying the room as a hospital room. The itchy sheets that feel too thin to be her own between her fingers are those that dress the beds in the hospital she hasn't seen since she broke her arm at the age of fourteen. And, even then, she never saw these sheets; it was when Jeremy had severely injured himself that she was introduced to them.

Elena's hand goes immediately to her head. An IV is lodged into her vein. She moves awkwardly, tilting her head around to grab a sight of something identifiable. Where's the car? Where are her parents? She keeps looking for them, but she can't see their familiar figures standing at her bedside. Her mother's warm touch, her hand grasping her own, is missing. Elena feels ice settle in her chest.

The attempts to lift her head so she's not lying flat leads to her vision being blurred and a spinning in her sight. Everything is better if she stays horizontal. Her attempts only saw her head lift slightly from the very thin pillow; she doesn't feel strong at all. It's as if someone's drained her of all of her energy. She doesn't even know if anyone else is in the room, but she needs to be able to find her voice. If she can't, then this is all a dream she's experiencing while sitting in the backseat of her parents' car.

Her voice is croaky and soft when she says, "Why am I in the hospital?"

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SCARY MOVIE?
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES | [personal profile] disparage and [personal profile] martyrs | a spin on a first sample. set between s2 and s3.

[ so, waking up in an abandoned town can only mean one thing. they were reliving the life of neve campbell. which caroline didn't mind at all, but after the third movie of scream, she's starting to take this as an insult. all she wanted was a nice, quiet day filled of fun with elena, and, of course, by mystic falls law, it just had to turn sour. she'd be pissed if she wasn't so scared. she wonders why it couldn't be some ridiculous romantic comedy with horrible acting but gorgeous actors? that, she wouldn't mind at all!

as much as caroline fancies skeet ulrich back in his hey days, she's kind of over her life mirroring those of teen horror films. and she's pretty sure elena is, as well. with that in mind, her grip on elena's arm tightens a little as she eyes the dark buildings that hold no indication of activity inside of them. her phone is missing, and she can only assume elena's is, as well, who she was lucky enoug to be trapped with here.
]

Would it be redundant if I said this was creeping me out? Because that's what it's doing. And we've had super creeped out.

[ after the two years they've had, caroline's starting to think normal is creepy. she keeps a look out, eyeing the environment around them. she's just waiting for some ugly monster to show it's face and try and eat them. ]

I'M GONNA GETCHA REAL GOOD
SUPERNATURAL / THE VAMPIRE DIARIES | [personal profile] revivre and [personal profile] onsilksheets | SPN: 3x03 "bad day at black rock" au & TVD: pre-1x09 "history repeating" | alaric has a mystical object bela is in dire need of. bela enlists alaric's help (or he's the gentleman he is and offers). fun fact is, he doesn't know he has it.

[ alaric can be found in new york, specifically a little diner somewhere near central park. isobel's research has brought him here, though he imagines it's only a detour. he knows the real gold is in mystic falls, where she grew up. but he doesn't mind stopping off at new york along the way. it's one of the places he wishes he could've taken her to. he knows she'd enjoy the shopping.

he needs a distraction, and he's found it.

he's sitting at a table with bits of paper out in front of him. it's all in isobel's handwriting. he's read it over and over again; every time he re-reads it, he gains something else from it. but it still gets him nowhere closer to the vampire who killed her or the reason why. he doesn't understand why she was a target at all and he's determined to find out. if he has to turn into rupert giles and hit the books to become buffy summers, then so be it. he's not going to allow isobel to die in vain.

alaric's so invested in what he's reading that he becomes passive to everything around him. usually one who is so alert and the observer, he's allowed everyone to become a background character. he's adopting traits isobel had when she was working.

and if someone so happened to come walking up to him, it'd take him a few minutes to notice them.

EVERY TIME I WIND UP BACK AT YOUR DOOR
SUPERNATURAL | [personal profile] prebitched and [personal profile] onsilksheets | 3x12 "just in bello" au | dean's busted by the fbi so sam's gotta make bela pay.

[ sam leaves dean in the hotel room, wanting to return to the impala to find his phone. his pockets were empty - and so were dean's - and he couldn't seem to really focus on the situation at hand with it lost. just like dean always had to have the keys to the impala, sam always had to have his phone.

walking down the hallway of the hotel, he finds himself walking past some men dressed up as the fbi. he does a double take, walking backwards slowly as he watches them disappear -

- into the room dean is in. sam hurries down to the impala. when he gets there, he realises he should've went the other way, back to dean. but what use is that if he walks straight into the lion's den when he can help his brother out without being locked up behind bars?

he unlocks the impala, slides in, and keeps the entire beast in the dark. if they don't see him, the better. he finds his phone wedged underneath the passenger seat. he doesn't move for what feels like a lifetime, waiting to see if dean's okay. he knows those men were there for them. despite the type of people who he knew hung out in dumps like this, he knew that this had to be a trap. bela's name was written all over it.

he watches as they escort dean out. he sees his brother giving the car a pointed look. sam wants to hop out and stop them, but he knows that if the fbi don't kick his ass, dean will.

dean's left him a message.
bbitch blea. it's not his best work, but dean's never been one to be technologically smart. sam's the one who can type without looking - and, better yet, in secret. it makes him think that they should be switched; dean should be out here, ready to kick bela's ass, and he should be in there, with his phone.

sam isn't even sure why he has her number. for all he knows, it's a dummy one - or she's deleted the number entirely - but he texts it. he's too angry to even consider calling her.

WE'LL WORK THIS OUT (JUST THE TWO OF US)
MISFITS | [personal profile] whosbarry and [personal profile] awkwards | in between 2x06 and 2x07 | the one where there is awkwardness and miscommunication with a side dish of crushing.

Post-community work was boring. Alisha thought she'd embrace her freedom and roll with it, but considering the power she was given, it wasn't a likely option. Her old lifestyle had to be thrown out the window for one that was more careful. Wasn't that what happened with that Rogue girl? Alisha's just waiting for the white streak in her hair to complete the picture.

Curtis told them about the Milk Boy incident, despite none of them having any recollection of those horrific events. She knew about them, mostly the fact that they become famous and apparently it wasn't the life they had always imagined. But that just left things even more awkward.

And that just left her where she was before. Confused. Simon never told her when they finally get their shit together; she figured it was after they get famous, but, considering that entire timeline had been retconned, she doesn't see any end in sight of living with this burden of a secret.

She didn't know what drove her to even approach Simon. She'd been avoiding him somewhat after the gang went to the pub for drinks. She only ever saw him when they planned drinking nights; she spent most of her time trying to reconnect with friends she'd outgrown.

Alisha went by the community centre sometimes, for a glimpse of him - if he ever went back there - and to sometimes wish that they were still wearing those ridiculous orange suits. Despite their freedom, she still felt quite trapped by what Superhoodie had told her. How was she supposed to fulfil this stupid destiny if there were less opportunities to do so?

She wasn't too eager to take it upon herself to instigate it. But she missed him and how easily he thought he could blend into the background when it was the right opposite.

Today, fortunately, was one of those days where she'd find him at the community centre. Outside, she sat on the table where they had shared drinks - and where he'd told her she was beautiful - hoping that he'd pass by.

WHO DIED AND MADE YOU FUCKING KING OF THE ZOMBIES?
ANGEL | [personal profile] singswithstars and [personal profile] sires | season three/four/five massive au | the apocalypse finally comes ... with zombies. fml.

[ The apocalypse comes - finally - and it still manages to fuck itself up. Colour Darla incredibly unimpressed and pissed off.

There's hardly any snacks to go around, which has caused her to snap the necks of half of her small army and stake them right in the ticker. There's no point in sharing with ungrateful people who don't listen to her orders properly, anyway. She's the general. The orders should be done exactly as she says they are to be. The only person she can trust is Drusilla, which is funny, because she's the one person who grates her nerves more than the nameless wannabe vampires she's slayed.

They're out in the middle of a deserted road, houses and the like all dark by the lack of lights, and things are half smashed, half still as they were pre-end of the world, and Darla's looking for some lunch. She's finding it harder and harder as they travel over the country to find someone delicious. She has a suspicion it's making Dru a little crazier than usual to go without for so long.

And now - if she can believe it or not - she's trying to find a place for them to hide. From zombies. The deliciously disgusting undead who make them seem like angels. At least she and Dru are better dressed.

Darla's tired of walking up and down, in a sort of pace, as she looks for somewhere smart to hide. These zombies lack in intelligence but they have a hunger to rival her own.
]

The apocalypse comes and we're being chased by zombies.

[ If she could throw something, she would. ]

Come on, Dru. Let's leave the morons to be zombie bait.

[ The Scooby Gang, she presumes. Whatever is left of them. The Slayer's been on their asses since they got the hell out of Sunnydale and it's ruins, and she's not sure if the zombies have picked them off one by one yet. She figures they'll start with the tall one, who's a bit bulky and doesn't possess any skill whatsoever. And then the red head. She'd love to be there to watch the zombies rip apart that one.

And if Darla grabs Dru by the crook of the elbow and roughly pulls her forward toward a house, it's not because she cares.

the one where darla is given a third chance and dru becomes a mummy. again.

[ No good deed ever goes quite unpunished. And for Darla, the punishments just seem to keep on giving.

She wakes, coming to, not quite in the alley she died in. Everything is quite blurry; her memory, the facts, what she's seeing.

She pushes herself up slightly, finding herself lying flat on her back. Resting against her elbows, she looks around. The last time she awoke, it was from underneath the earth in a greenhouse. She can't quite say that pleased her, but she's thankful for what Drusilla did for her - even though she'll never quite say it.

The thought that this was merely an illusion - something that perhaps happens when you're dead - flutters across her mind and she waits for it to disperse. Darla's never had quite the run in good luck. If she's dead - and this is ... most definitely not heaven - then she's expecting flames and nothing that feels solidly connected to home.

She comes plummeting back to earth when she sees Drusilla.
